Search Sebastian County Inmate Records

Sebastian County inmate records are searched through the county jail roster for adult bookings, custody status, bond, charges, court dates, and release fields. A Sebastian County jail roster search is most useful for people held in the local adult detention center or listed in prior booking profiles. Sentenced state prisoners, federal prisoners, immigration detainees, and juveniles use different systems. Start with the county roster for a recent adult booking, then move to the state, court, federal, or ICE lookup channel when the custody path changes.

Sebastian County Jail Roster Overview

The official county jail roster is the Sebastian County AR Inmate Inquiry, a New World Systems public portal linked from the Sheriff's Office inmate inquiry page. It is free to search and did not require a login during research. The portal covers adult jail bookings connected to the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center and can be filtered to show only people currently in custody.

The roster is not a single statewide criminal-history database. It shows jail data such as booking records, public photos, bond fields, court-date rows, and charge tables. Formal court charges must be checked through JusticeWeb, CourtConnect, or the Circuit Clerk. Sentenced state prisoners are searched through the Arkansas Department of Corrections locator, and federal or immigration custody requires BOP, U.S. Marshals, or ICE channels. Juvenile custody is separate.

How to Use Sebastian County Inmate Records

For a current adult detainee, use the roster's current-custody filter first. For an older booking, search without the current-only filter. Research found 326 current in-custody records and 10,320 unfiltered records on May 29, 2026, which shows that the database included historical profiles as well as the current jail population.

  1. Open the county inmate inquiry entry point or the direct New World search page.
  2. Check In Custody when searching for someone now held at the jail.
  3. Search by name if no subject number or booking number is known.
  4. Use Subject Number when available, especially for mail, because the county mail page treats it as the inmate ID.
  5. Click the linked name in results to open the profile for charges, bond, court dates, housing facility, and photos.

Call the Adult Detention Center at 479-783-4988 when the search is time-sensitive. New arrests may not be visible until booking is complete, and release, transfer, or bond information can change faster than a public web search. For a record that is not online, the Sheriff's Records page and the jail information line are the local fallback before moving to court or state systems. Keep the Subject Number handy when calling.

Sebastian County Roster Search Fields

The roster accepts several filters. Broad searches are useful when the spelling of a name is uncertain. Narrow filters are better when a court paper, mail instruction, bond receipt, or prior roster entry gives an ID.

What Sebastian County Inmate Profiles Show

Search results show a photo column, name link, subject number, in-custody status, race, gender, birth date, height, weight, and a multiple-bookings marker. A full profile can add release fields, classification, booking origin, bond tables, court-info tables, and charge tables. Classification means the jail's housing or security assessment. It is not a finding of guilt.

The roster's docket-number and disposition fields may be blank, preliminary, or different from the later court file. Use them as pointers to the court record, not as the final criminal-case result.

County, State, Federal, and ICE Records

The roster is only one part of the Sebastian County inmate records chain. If a person is sentenced to state prison, search the Arkansas Department of Corrections inmate search. If the person is a sentenced federal prisoner, search the BOP inmate locator. If immigration custody is involved, use ICE ODLS. Arkansas VINELink is useful for custody notifications.

Sebastian County Booking Process

The public roster fields show the jail's booking path even though the county did not publish a full intake policy in the captured pages. After arrest, an adult may be brought to the Adult Detention Center by the Sheriff's Office, Fort Smith Police, Greenwood Police, Arkansas State Police, or another agency. The jail creates or reuses a Subject Number, opens a Booking Number, records identity data, captures a booking photo, enters charges, and assigns classification and housing.

Bond and court-date fields may appear after the court process starts. The jail profile can show total bond amount, bond type, bond number, court, courtroom, and court date. A cash bond, when allowed, must be paid at Booking and Information with the exact cash amount plus the $20 fee described in the county FAQ. Surety or legally sufficient bonds are handled through licensed bonding companies, and the Sheriff's Office does not recommend a company.

Sebastian County Inmate Visitation Rules

The county's current captured visitation page uses CorrectPay for registration and scheduling. If a visitor lacks an electronic device, the county says a kiosk in the detention center lobby may be used. Visits are recorded, can be canceled for unforeseen reasons, and can only be scheduled two days in advance. Each inmate is allowed two visits per week.

Mail and Money for Sebastian County Inmates

Non-legal and non-commercial mail is sent to a scanning address, not directly to the Fort Smith jail. The county mail page says the sender must clearly print the inmate name and ID number, and that the Subject Number from Inmate Inquiry is the inmate ID. Scanned mail is delivered electronically to kiosks or tablets, and originals are destroyed.
